March 3, 1962

One of the most dominant female athletes, or just athletes, was born on this day in 1962—Jackie Joyner Kersee.

In a nutshell, for her track and field competition, she has 3 Olympic Gold Medals, 1 silver, and 2 bronze.  In addition, she has 5 more gold medals combined in the World Championships and Pan-Am Games.

Furthermore, JJK starred at UCLA on the hardwood.  For the Bruins, she scored over  a thousand points, which puts her in the top twenty scoring all time for UCLA.  This was accomplished while she was setting records on the track.
